It Happened

It happened. I knew it would.

Last week I set up a new study area for the boys. A place to move away from the busy-ness that can be our dining table mid-school day. I tastefully decorated it. I lovingly vacuumed the carpet underneath. I painstakingly cleaned the table top. And I even thought to give them a handsome, handmade (by Ben), pencil cup and a shiny lamp.

It was clean. No, it was very clean. Uncluttered. Possibly the most uncluttered space in my entire house. I wanted to move into that space myself. To enjoy it's orderliness.

Until now. Now it is the site of Gavin's current experimental undertaking--a generator. It's beyond cluttered and I fear it will never be the same.

I give up.

P.S. No way will a picture of MY desk ever make it onto the Web.

  2. As the mother of the father of your children....you can't say you weren't warned. I KNOW I have told you about the projects that Brian undertook in his room, including dismantling various bikes, electronic toys, fishing equipment and of course, the legos....oh! the Legos I picked up, vacuumed up, tossed in the "lego box", garbage can, etc. Face it, April. It's genetic and for that, there is nothing to be done. It's beyond hope. Sigh....
You should have moved into that spot while you had the chance. LOL
