Spring Break

Spring Break is finished! Its been a good week, productive, a little exciting, and sometimes comical.  

The chimney's exterior is now replaced and it looks great. Unfortunately, Brian had to give up his entire vacation to see it finished. What they thought might take three or four days ended up taking six full days of working.

Gramps made time to play a few games of chess, but after full days of working he much preferred a less challenging game of Connect Four or Checkers.

We released our butterflies...

Visited the butterfly exhibit at the Natural Science Museum...

Luci lost her two front teeth on the same day. The tooth fairy left her $6 for them! We've laughed so hard at how cute she sounds when she talks now. Not to mention how adorably cute she looks! I'm not at all anxious for those two permanent teeth to come in. Once they do, I know my baby girl will never look the same again!

Our homeschool group had an Easter party & egg hunt on Friday. The kids had so much fun playing and  hunting eggs with their friends.

On Saturday night we made Resurrection Cookies. We thought our egg whites would never form "stiff white peaks", but finally it sort of peaked so we went with it. It worked and on Easter Sunday we had "Empty tombs." If you've never done this, I recommend you add it to your Easter celebration next year. I used the recipe and instructions from Faithful Provisions.

And on Easter Sunday we went to church to worship the One who gave it all so that we might have eternal life. I can't think of a better way to end our Spring Break than that!
